Black Classic Press hosted a wonderfully successful book launch and celebration of William Leo Hansberry’s 125th birthday on Monday, February 25, 2019. More than 150 people came out in support of our republication of Hansberry’s two books, Pillars in Ethiopian History and Africa & Africans As Seen by Classical Writers. The event featured remarks by Dr. Joseph E. Harris, editor of these two works, Ms. Gail Hansberry, (one of Mr. Hansberry's daughters), and Black Classic Press author, Runoko Rashidi. Each panelist shared remembrances of Hansberry from their own unique perspective. Many of the guests were excited to talk to the panel members during a much too-short, but lively question and answer period and afterward at the book signing. Two of our authors Ray Winbush and Denise Wright talked about their new book, The Osiris Papers: Reflections on the Life and Writings of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. This work will be published by Black Classic Press. It is due out this summer. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to keep abreast of future events!
